quick rhythms surround:
drums gently thumping,
brush and cymbals
tapping, sweeping,
saxophone, flute, scaling
higher, lower, up, down
across my empty mind.

I love how you've described the alive nature of jazz notes! I have experienced notes like this a few times, not too often though.
